Wound Care
Wound Care Assessment
Wounds are assessed weekly and are monitored for signs of healing progress. When there are no signs of healing progress within 2 weeks, re-evaluation of the care plan is indicated. Wounds that have stalled and failed to heal as planned are known as chronic wounds or nonhealing wounds. These wounds are usually full-thickness and stall during the inflammatory phase of wound healing.

Wound Care Treatment
Once the wound has been assessed, a treatment protocol is established for maximum recovery and recuperation. Treatment options include the following:

Infection Management
A wound can form from a wide variety of conditions such as diabetes, poor circulation, vascular disease, trauma and much more. Wounds should not be ignored as they can lead to a more serious bone infection that may result in an amputation. Wound healing is a complex process by which the skin repairs itself after an injury. The UltraMIST treatment administers a low energy ultrasound-generated mist used to promote pain-free wound healing via debridement and wound cleansing.

Wound Prevention
Skin growths are accumulations of various types of cells that look different from the normal surrounding skin. They may be raised or flat and range in color from dark brown or black to flesh-colored or red. They may be present at birth or develop later as we age.
The treatment uses high-frequency current that delivers precise electrical sparks through a micro needle electrode at different amplitudes to dehydrate a skin growth. The needle almost always remains above the skin surface and the current sparks across the gap, causing dehydration of the skin growth. As the growth is removed, a natural protective coating of scab develops that covers the treated area. There is no blood associated with the treatment. Once the scab drops off, the treated area will heal, and a new healthy skin will return and take on the color of the surrounding tissue over time.
